House Rules, Information & Terms of Use

A confirmed booking constitutes acceptance of our general terms and conditions and cancellation policy.

Generator Studios – Amsterdam

Thank you for choosing one of our studios. To ensure everything runs smoothly and pleasantly, we’ve set out a number of agreements. We kindly ask you to follow these rules. That way, we can create a great experience for everyone together.

1. Access / Opening

  • Key safe: There is a key safe at the entrance. On the day of your booking, you will receive the code. Make sure the key safe is always properly closed after use so water stays out.

  • Gate: Always close the gate, even when you are inside. This contributes to safety and order.

  • Access code: Only you (and your team) may use the access code or key. Do not share it with others.

  • Lost key: In case of loss, we charge €250. We consider this a serious security risk, as we can no longer guarantee access control to the building.

2. Leaving the Space Clean / Closing Up

  • Toilets and kitchen: Keep the toilets and kitchen clean and tidy for the next guest. Do not leave dirty dishes; a dishwasher is available.

  • Waste: Dispose of waste in the container outside the gate on the left, in a sealed trash bag.

  • Lock up: Lock all doors with the key (2 locks) and return the key to the key safe. Lock the gate with the padlock.

  • Condition of the space: Leave the space as you found it. Take a photo and WhatsApp it to +31 6 17918740 so we know everything has been left neatly.

3. Use of the Space

  • Tape and decoration: Do not apply tape to the floor or windows — these have recently been painted. If you need to tape something, discuss it with us in advance; we’re happy to think along.

  • Equipment and furniture: You may use available items such as lighting, furniture, and equipment, provided this has been agreed upon in advance.

  • Photography background rolls: You may use them, but we charge €20 per used section. If you want us to check what was used, we’ll send you an invoice or a payment request.

  • Confetti and smoke machines: Only permitted with explicit prior approval.

  • Sound system: The studio has an excellent sound system. You can easily connect your phone using the cable attached to the speaker.

4. Kitchen Facilities

  • Two Nespresso machines + milk frother (feel free to bring your own capsules)

  • One Smeg filter coffee machine

  • Dishwasher available

5. Parking

  • Parking on the premises is possible if space is available. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a parking spot.

6. Noise and Disturbance

  • Please be considerate of other users in the building.

7. Safety and Responsibility

  • Smoking: Smoking indoors is not permitted; outside is fine. Please clean up cigarette butts.

  • Damage: If something breaks, let us know. Any costs will be handled in consultation.

  • Heating: This is a large building. Heating may be turned on, but please monitor energy usage. Do not adjust the knobs; temperature can be controlled via the wall thermostats or by contacting us via WhatsApp.

8. Cancellations and Changes

Cancellation Policy

To ensure our studios remain efficiently and fairly available to everyone, we apply the following cancellation terms.

1. General Terms

This policy applies to the rental of both studios for theatre, photography, music, and other creative purposes. By booking a studio, the renter agrees to this cancellation policy.

2. Cancellation by the Renter

2.1 Free Cancellation

  • Cancellation is free of charge if made more than 7 days before the booked rental date.

  • Any amounts already paid will be fully refunded.

2.2 Cancellation Within 7 Days of the Rental Date

  • 4 to 7 days before the rental date: 50% of the rental fee will be charged.

  • Less than 4 days before the rental date: The full rental fee will be charged, unless the studio can be re-rented.

2.3 No-Show

  • In case of a no-show (when the renter does not appear at the booked time and has not canceled), the full rental fee will be charged.

3. Cancellation by the Lessor

  • The lessor reserves the right to cancel a booking in rare cases, for example due to unforeseen circumstances, force majeure, or situations in which the booking can no longer proceed.

  • In such cases, the renter will be informed as soon as possible.

  • Any amounts already paid will be fully refunded, or an alternative will be offered if possible.

4. Changes to the Booking

  • Changes to an existing booking (such as rescheduling to another date) can be made free of charge up to 7 days before the rental date, subject to availability.

  • Within 7 days of the rental date, changes will be treated as a cancellation and a new booking, and the cancellation terms will apply.

5. Force Majeure

If the rental of the studios is affected by force majeure (such as extreme weather conditions, power outages, or health crises), we will work together with the renter to find an appropriate solution. This may include a refund or rescheduling the booking.
